The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra swings into the Santa Clarita Valley, on Wednesday, Nov. 7. Appearing locally one night only, is the official Glenn Miller Orchestra, licensed by the Miller estate, and formed back in 1956, due to the strong demand created by the box office hit, The Glenn Miller Story, starring Jimmy Stewart and June Allyson. The band has been touring around the world ever since, averaging 300 live dates a year, playing to millions of fans.
Directed by Nick Hilscher, and featuring vocalist Eileen Burns, the Glenn Miller Orchestra will present a selection of material from the group’s vast library, which includes compositions from the original band and Glenn Miller’s Army Air Force Band. The program for the evening may include favorites such as “In the Mood,” “Moonlight Serenade,” “Tuxedo Junction,” “Chattanooga Choo-Choo,” and “Pennsylvania 6-5000,” as well as various patriotic and military songs, as a tribute to our community’s veterans and active military personnel.
