Pat Valaika
The UCLA Bruins defeated Stony Brook 9-1 Friday afternoon to open the NCAA Division 1 Baseball Championship in Omaha, Neb.
Former Hart Indian Trevor Brown had a single and an RBI in the first inning. The next batter was his former Hart teammate Pat Valaika who grounded out but knocked in a run as well. The Bruins put up 5 in the bottom of the first and never looked back.

Brown, a junior first baseman who was drafted in the 10th round last week by the San Francisco Giants in Major League Baseball’s First-Year Player Draft, finished the game 1-for-4 with an RBI, run and a walk.
Sophomore shortstop Valaika went 1-for-4 against the Seawolves with two RBI.
Freshman Shane Zeile from Valencia High School did not play in the game.
