Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station’s Special Assignment Team and the Summer Violent Crime Enforcement Program conducted a multiple-location parole-probation compliance operation during the early morning Thursday. The deputies were accompanied by a Los Angeles County Probation Officer. This morning’s operation included locations in Canyon Country, Saugus, Newhall, and Val Verde.
This operation is part of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station’s ongoing proactive efforts to ensure that convicted criminals living in the Santa Clarita Valley including the unincorporated areas are in compliance with the terms and conditions of their probation after release from jail.
Two arrests were made for felony narcotics violations and gang-related probation violation charges. The names of the suspects are not being released at this time because deputies are still conducting active investigations regarding these violations.
These types of operations and others like it will continue throughout the year to ensure convicted criminals remain in compliance with their parole or probation conditions. Criminals who choose to break the law and are caught will be arrested.

Doesn’t look like my neighborhood. From the way the people were acting, it didn’t seem like a probation violation to me. Word has it that it was either a hostage situation, or suicide attempt.

Wasn’t the barricade situation a separate incident in the afternoon?
A probation officer told me the system is rigged go make these guys violate their probation. He said they require them to get out and some how be able to make it to random meetings with no job, no car, sometimes no license. They know a majority will violate.
