Cowboy3The City of Santa Clarita announced today that the 22nd annual Cowboy Festival, set for April 18 and 19, 2015, will be held in Old Town Newhall.

Since 1994, the Cowboy Festival’s full lineup has included events with partner agencies throughout the Santa Clarita Valley, while weekend programming has taken place at Melody Ranch Motion Picture Studio™. Film contracts between Melody Ranch and a production company make it impossible to host both the production and Cowboy Festival’s weekend activities in 2015.

The 22nd annual event will provide the same level of music, entertainment, food, and shopping that Festival patrons have come to expect from the world-class event in a new, exciting setting. Old Town Newhall is part of the City of Santa Clarita’s recently revitalized Arts and Entertainment District, which features historic and film-focused points of interest like the William S. Hart Ranch & Museum and Walk of Western Stars. The City is coordinating with Old Town Newhall business owners, Los Angeles County and Hart Park, plus area business partners to ensure a memorable experience in 2015.cowboy-festival-2012

“Melody Ranch Motion Picture Studio™ has provided one of the most unique Western experiences for Cowboy Festival patrons,” said Mayor Laurene Weste. “While we will miss the Ranch setting in 2015, we look forward to providing Festival guests with unique experiences in Old Town Newhall.”

Recognized as one of the most iconic Festivals of its kind, the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival attracts more than 10,000 visitors each year from across the Country and around the globe. The event showcases the music, movies, personalities, food, and clothing of the Old West and pays tribute to Santa Clarita’s rich Western roots.
Tickets for the 2015 Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival will go on sale in early January, 2015. Information about the Cowboy Festival, including dates, ticket availability, events times, prices, venues and more, will be available at CowboyFestival.org in the coming weeks.
