It’s Go Day on Feb. 1! For the first time ever, football fans in Los Angeles can include Girl Scout Cookies in their game day spread: Nearly 3 million boxes of Girl Scout Cookies officially arrive in the area this weekend, and roughly 40,000 girls will begin honing leadership skills as they initiate sales on Sunday, Feb. 1.

Immediate customer gratification: In the past, LA-area girls began the sale by taking “pre-orders” with an order card during the first few weeks. But this year, Girl Scouts are using a direct-sales model for the whole season, meaning girls will have cookies in-hand from the start. (Booth sales in front of local storefronts begin Feb. 13 and go through March 8.) Find cookies by visiting girlscoutcookies.org.

There are seven Girl Scout Cookies offered this year: Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Trefoils, Do-si-Dos, Savannah Smiles, and the new Rah-Rah Raisin, a crunchy oatmeal raisin cookie with Greek yogurt-flavored chunks. There is also a new, extremely limited gluten-free Toffee-tastic cookie, which is a crunchy, buttery cookie with golden toffee bits. Girl Scout Cookies are $5 a box, except for the gluten-free Toffee-tastic, which is $6.

Buying Girl Scout Cookies:

Helps girls gain important life skills: By running her own cookie business and working with others, Girl Scouts learn money management, people skills, goal-setting, decision-making, and business ethics.

Funds local Girl Scout troop activities and leadership programs: like STE[A]M (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) activities, camp, and field trips. Girl Scouts fund important community service projects, too.
