UPDATE: This Darwin Award winner has been identified.

Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station officials are asking residents for help in identifying an individual wanted for questioning.

On June 22, 2015, at approximately 4:30 PM, the individual pictured here entered a local business in the 24400 block of Magic Mountain Parkway in the Santa Clarita Valley.

He selected several items of merchandise, removed the packaging and concealed the items in his pants pockets. The subject quickly walked toward the front of the store, past the open registers and out the front door without paying for the items.

He was contacted by loss prevention personnel and returned the stolen items. While being escorted back to the office for processing, the subject struggled with the loss prevention officers and ran from the location.

If you recognize the below pictured individual, please contact the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station

If you have information please contact:

Detective O’Brien PHONE: 661-255-1121 ext. 2317

  23. What did he steal, a hallmark card? I’ve heard local police ignore theft from residents. They sure jump on corporate theft.

Still waiting for a response from the sheriff – I’ve written it off now. But if it’s from Target they would have gotten on it!

  33. UPDATE: This Darwin Award winner has been identified.

  34. Darwin Awards go only to people who have been killed due to their own stupidity (like the two guys who died over the weekend by setting off fireworks from their own heads) — and hopefully before they contaminate the gene pool by breeding.

Merely being a thief, even if a stupid one, doesn’t qualify one for such an “honor.”

  36. Ron Bozarth says:

Most comments are trite. Any success in finding this guy? Why is it soooooo easy to get away with crime in Santa Clarita? The Sheriffs show up (5+ cars) for any little call BUT seemingly spend toooo much time at 7-11 to capture real criminals… truth…

  37. Theo Howard Theo Howard says:

He’s not technically a Darwin award winner unless he removed himself from the gene pool by death or sterilization….
