[KHTS] – A motorist who was trapped inside a vehicle Tuesday after it plunged down a 25-foot embankment in Castaic has been rescued, officials said.
The vehicle reportedly went over the side of a boat ramp on North Lake Hughes Road and Ball Point Road at approximately 11 a.m., Los Angeles County Fire Department officials said.
Fire officials were dispatched to the crash site at 11:03 a.m. and arrived on scene at 11:09 a.m.
The victim was removed from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital by 11:28 a.m., Fire officials said.
The cause of the crash and the extent of the victim’s injuries, if any, are unknown at this time.
California Highway Patrol officers were still on scene as of 12:45 p.m. recovering the vehicle, reported to be a white Toyota 4Runner, according to CHP.
No additional information is available at this time.
