Former College of the Canyons volleyball player Serena LeDuff has been named a 2014-15 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Scholar Athlete Award Winner.
The Scholar Athlete Award is the highest student achievement honor awarded annually by the CCCAA. Candidates must carry a minimum GPA of 3.5 and show outstanding leadership qualities, as well as have participated in two seasons of sport.
In the classroom, LeDuff maintained a 3.76 GPA.
In fall 2014, LeDuff was named the WSC Player of the Year for a second straight season. She was also a member of the 2014 All-State team.
The sophomore tri-captain played in all 25 games for the Cougars that season, appearing in 87 of 90 sets, while leading the team in kills (343), points (389), service aces (39), total attacks (918), kills per set (3.94) and points per set (4.5) from the outside hitter position.
She also ranked second on the team with 304 digs, while her 343 kills were also ranked 11th in the state.
LeDuff is currently attending Southern Arkansas University.
