Castaic/ Val Verde: Public Safety and Crime Information Report for the Week of 03/14/16 – 03/20/16
The following crimes were reported last week:
Domestic Violence – 31000 block of Rocca Drive. A verbal argument turned violent over social media posts. One party was arrested.
Assault – 29000 block of Verdale Road. The victim reported being assaulted after a verbal argument over rent. The victim was treated for his injuries and released from the hospital. One party was arrested.
Attempt Residential Burglary – 27000 block of Buckskin Drive. The victim was notified by their alarm company of an activation to their system. The victim cancelled the alarm and did not have deputies respond. When the victim came home later in the day, he noticed pry marks on a kitchen window and damage to a door knob on the rear door to his garage.
Residential Burglary — 30000 block of Barcelona Drive. The victim had several boxes in their garage rummaged through. Entry was made through a dog door which was left open. The home owners reported nothing missing except for their dog.
Theft – 29000 block of Fenway Court. The victim reported that a gps device, camera, and the tailgate of a truck were stolen from an unlocked Ford F-350 while parked in front of their residence.
Please remember never to leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle, close and lock your doors. Minimize your risk and avoid being the victim of a crime of opportunity.
