No. 4 College of the Canyons began the week as the No. 4 ranked team in Southern California, before picking up three straight wins at the annual Allan Hancock College tourney held March 22-24, to improve to 17-4 on the season.
In Tuesday’s opener, COC was a 10-3 winner over NorCal No. 19 Merced College.
Head coach Chris Cota and the Cougars then followed up that effort with a 13-4 trouncing of East L.A. College on Wednesday.
On Thursday, Canyons defeated No. 17 Cerritos College 5-3.
Canyons currently leads the state in both home runs and batting average.
The Cougars have now won five straight to sit in a first place tie in the WSC, South Division with Glendale College.
Up next, COC will host West L.A. College at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
