COC Women’s Basketball single season shot block leader Hannah Green has committed to Illinois State.
The six foot forward led the Lady Cougars to a 23-6 record, helping the team win the Western States Conference South Division title, earning WSC South player of the year honors and second team all-state honors.
Green led the state in blocked shots per game (6.5), was third in rebounds per game (13.8), while setting the Cougars single game (15) and single season (194) records for blocked shots.
Green will take the floor for the NCAA Division I Illinois State Redbirds, who went 8-22 last season under Barb Smith.
“Hannah’s work ethic, her skill level and her highly competitive nature were what impressed the coaches at Illinois State,” says Head COC Coach Greg Herrick. “She will play a very active role in the improvement of the Redbirds program, just like she did for us at COC.”
Hannah is the first COC player since Kelli Lewis in 2011 (University of the Pacific) to commit to a Division I program.
