The National Weather Service has extended its Red Flag Warning of extreme fire danger for coastal and valley areas of Los Angeles and Ventura counties through Monday at 8 p.m. due to continued gusting wind and single-digit relative humidity.
East wind with gusts 30 to 45 mph are expected late Sunday night into Monday. However, the wind is expected to be weaker overall on Monday.
Meanwhile, relative humidity of three to 10 percent will be common through at least Wednesday, with widespread poor overnight recovery, mostly less than 30 percent.
There’s a chance locally critical Red Flag conditions will continue into Tuesday, especially in the valleys and mountains.
The Santa Barbara County mountains will maintain elevated fire weather conditions due to continued very dry conditions with very poor overnight recoveries. There is a chance of additional plume growth from the Thomas Fire on Monday.

Guess we aren’t out of the woods yet. Time to put together that “to go bag,”
even though there’s currently no fire directly affecting this area. Could happen any time, and with this wind, it could get out of hand quickly.
