The California Department of Motor Vehicles will provide limited services for victims of Los Angeles and Ventura wildfires at two local assistance centers starting Tuesday.
The DMV will aid residents impacted by the Rye, Creek and Skirball Fires at Los Angeles County’s assistance center at the Lake View Terrace Recreation Center.
A separate location will aid residents of Ventura impacted by the Thomas Fire.
Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. issued an emergency proclamation authorizing fee and/or penalty waivers for wildfire survivors in Ventura and Los Angeles counties.
The proclamation allows residents to replace at no cost the following items if damaged due to the fire: duplicate driver licenses, ID cards, vehicle registration and title, and disabled person parking placards.
In addition, fire survivors can acquire substitute license plates and stickers, vehicle disposal paperwork, driver record printouts and process a change of address. These services also are available at local DMV field offices.
The Lake View Terrace Recreation Center assistance center will be located at 11075 Foothill Boulevard, Lake View Terrace 91342 as of Tuesday at noon.
The Ventura LAC is in Poinsettia Pavilion, 3451 Foothill Road, Ventura 93003.
