A Monday morning collision in Stevenson Ranch killed one person, said officials at the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at 9:00 a.m. on The Old Road and Pico Canyon Road when the driver of a 2001 Toyota – intending to make a left turn out of the Coco’s Bakery driveway – drove directly into the path of a 2016 Jeep traveling southbound on The Old Road.
The driver of the Toyota, who was later identified as Valencia resident, Gene Sturdyvin, 84, was pinned inside his vehicle and unresponsive.
“Sturdyvin was transported to Henry Mayo where he succumbed to his injuries,” a report released by the CHP said. “He was pronounced by Dr. Privett, MD at 9:55 a.m.”
The driver of the Jeep, Harry Gray, 64, of Stevenson Ranch, was not injured.
