On Thursday the Antelope Valley Union High School District celebrated the 25th Anniversary of Salute to Youth. My office joined students from all over the Antelope Valley who had the opportunity to ask questions and interact with local representatives from local businesses, apprenticeships, career-technical schools, college programs, high school academies and military. The students were able to participate in interactive demonstrations and information about education and training needed for jobs in 15 different industry sectors. This weekend my staff presented a certificate to the American Heart Association in honor of their 2016 Heart Walk in Santa Clarita. As heart disease continues to be the #1 killer of Americans throughout the country, it is important to bring awareness, education, research, and health programs to our communities to improve the health of every American. Thank you to the Los Angeles County Division of the American Heart Association and your supporters for putting together this important event.
