Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information

Last week in Canyon Country East we had nine Part-1 crimes. Of those reported crimes, there was; 1 residential burglary, 6 larcenies, 1 vehicle burglary and 1 stolen vehicle.
A residential burglary occurred in the 18000 block of W. Terra Place (a new home development near Via Princessa and Lost Canyon) on March 6th between 2:00-4:00 PM. A pallet containing 13 back flow units was stolen from an unoccupied open garage.
A petty theft occurred in the 27900 block of Solamint Road between March 3rd 11:00 pm-March 4th 9:00 am. A bicycle was stolen from the living room balcony. A petty theft occurred in the 19100 block of Golden Valley Road at the Verizon Store on March 4th. Two males entered the location and stole a cellular phone that was on display. A male was arrested in the 29500 block of Mammoth Lane for possession of stolen items and possession of narcotics. A theft from an unlocked vehicle occurred in the 17500 block of Gladesworth Lane, several personal items were stolen from the vehicle. Those items were later found inside a recovered stolen vehicle that was found on Medley Ridge and Lost Canyon. The vehicle was reported stolen from Sherman Oaks. A shoplifting occurred in the 27500 block of Sierra Highway at the 7-11 store. A male entered the location grabbed some food items and walked out of the store without paying.
A vehicle burglary occurred on Silver Saddle Circle and Palomino Place between March 1st 9:00 PM – March 2nd 9:00 AM. Electronic and personal items were stolen. There was no sign of forced entry.
A 2001 Jetta was stolen from the 27900 block of Solamint Road by an acquaintance on March 4th. The vehicle was recovered on March 6th by LAPD –Mission Station.
There were 7 arrest made by proactive deputies for various narcotics violations, assaults and public intoxication.
Make sure to always park in well-lit areas and be cognizant of your surroundings. If you see any suspicious activity either close to your home or while you are out shopping, call the Sheriff’s station at (661) 255-1121 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.
