Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit
This past week in Zone 7, the following Part-1 Crimes occurred:
(1) Robbery, (3) Residential Burglaries, (3) Grand Thefts, (4) Shoplift and (1) Petty Theft.
On Saturday, 05-25-13, a robbery occurred near the 26400 block of Carl Boyer Drive. A male suspect concealed several items on his person and attempted to walk out of the location, failing to pay for the items. When the suspect was confronted by loss prevention personnel, he began to fight with them and produced a fishing knife, which he had stolen from the store. The suspect was subsequently arrested by responding deputies.
A residential burglary occurred near the 26700 block of Isabella Parkway. An unknown suspect entered the victim’s open garage and took a purse, which was located on the front passenger seat of an unlocked vehicle. The case is currently under investigation.
A grand theft occurred near the 19400 block of Oak Crossing Road. A male, posing as the victim’s son, called the victim and stated he was in a hospital in the Philippines and needed money. After the victim sent the money, the suspect called and asked for additional funds. The victim then called her son who confirmed he was not in the Philippines and called the Sheriff’s Department.
A male was arrested for shoplifting near the 26400 block of Carl Boyer when he attempted to walk out of the location without paying for items. The suspect was detained by loss prevention personnel and arrested by responding deputies.
A female suspect was arrested for shoplifting near the 18600 block of Via Princessa. The suspect attempted to walk out of the store after failing to pay for items she concealed in her clothing. The suspect was detained by loss prevention personnel and arrested by responding deputies.
In addition to shoplifting, Canyon Country West deputies made several arrests, including narcotics, domestic violence and battery.
