NewYearsGraphic The new year is right around the corner and Santa Clarita residents don’t have to go far to celebrate.

Locals can spend the last hours of 2015 at the following places:

JR Comedy Club
JR’s Comedy Club in Valencia will host a night of laughter with two shows to ring in the new year on the West Coast and the East Coast. The event ticket includes dinner, a champagne toast, party favors and noisemakers. Tickets are $68 per person. The East Coast new year show starts at 5:30 p.m. and the West Coast new year show starts at 8:15 p.m.

Wine 661
Wine 661 will host a night of live music, champagne tasting and a midnight ball drop. The event is from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Vincenzo’s Pizza
Vincenzo’s Pizza is holding a free New Year’s Eve party with live music, party favors, prizes and two countdowns: one at 9 p.m. and one at midnight.

Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center

Start the new year off with food, music and fun. Casual or dressy attire is accepted. The event is $10 prepaid or $12 at the door.

Santa Clarita residents can start off 2016 at the following places:

Santa Clarita Aquatics Center
The annual Arctic Chill Polar Bear Swim is returning for another year. Santa Clarita locals are invited to join in on Jan. 1, 2016 at 9 a.m. at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center’s waterslide pool. The event is free for everyone, and participants are encouraged to bring a nonperishable donation for the SCV Food Pantry.

Castaic Lake
Come out to Castaic Lake, Paradise Cove and explore a new sport. Learn about Dragon Boat while kicking off the new year. Paddles and personal floatation devices will be provided. The water event starts at 12 p.m. on Jan. 1, 2016.
