Former College of the Canyons pitcher Dana Eveland is back in the majors.
Eveland, 30, was called up to the New York Mets from Triple-A Las Vegas Saturday to help fortify a depleted Mets bullpen. He was 4-1 with a 3.91 ERA in 12 appearances (eight starts) for the 51s.
The left hander last played in the major leagues in 2012 with the Baltimore Orioles.
In 2013 Eveland, a 2002 16th-round draft choice by the Milwaukee Brewers out of Canyons, was in Korea pitching for the Sanwha Eagles. He made his major league debut with the Brewers against the Washington Nationals on July 16, 2005.
In his career, Eveland has appeared in 114 major league games, has compiled a 19-25 record with a 5.46 ERA.
In 2011 he was called up to the Dodgers, starting five games and finishing 3-2 with a 3.03 ERA.
