What do Ukrainian egg decorating, mystery shopping and computer malware protection have in common?

All are being offered as classes this year by the Hart District’s Golden Oak Adult School, located on the campus of Placerita Junior High School in Newhall.

Last week the California Department of Education’s adult education office gave its annual approval to Golden Oak’s lineup of academic programs – the courses one would expect from an adult school in California such as English as a Second Language (in five levels), U.S. and world history, government, economics, science and math.

In addition, each year the local adult school offers a variety of “community education and enrichment” classes, many of which are provided in response to requests from community members.

The Hart school board is scheduled to consider the list at its meeting Wednesday. For information about the school, or to request a course for consideration in the future, call Golden Oak at 661-253-0583.

The current course catalog is available online here: http://www.hartdistrict.org/goakadul/catalog.pdf
