LANCASTER – Mylz Jones, Collin Ferguson and Yonathan Daza each delivered four hits to help lift the JetHawks over the Lake Elsinore Storm, 14-8, on Sunday evening at The Hangar.

After dropping the first game of the series, the JetHawks took the final three and won three out of four over the Storm. Lancaster is 8-2 against Lake Elsinore at The Hangar this season.

The JetHawks had 21 hits to match a season-high. Ferguson, a day after driving in five and coming a homer shy of the cycle, had two doubles, two RBI, and four runs scored. Daza improved his league-leading batting average to .358.

Lancaster was up 7-0 by the end of the third inning. They scored twice in the first, four times in the second, and added one in the third. Garrett Hampson led off with a walk, stole second, and came home on Daza’s RBI single. Later in the frame, Jones brought in Daza with an RBI single of his own.

Wilson Soriano, who went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and three RBI, opened the bottom of the second with a double. Hampson followed with an RBI double. Sam Hilliard and Roberto Ramos drove in runs later in the inning. Back-to-back doubles by Ferguson and Chris Rabago plated the run in the third inning.

Lake Elsinore jumped right back into the game with a four-run fourth inning and added two in the fifth to pull within a run. It was as close as they would come, however. Carlos Belen blasted a three-run homer to the opposite field in right. Austin Allen added a two-run shot for the Storm.

The JetHawks answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth to give themselves some breathing room once more. Ferguson delivered an RBI double and Soriano came through with an RBI single. Lancaster added three in the sixth inning and two in the eighth to widen the final margin.

Marc Magliaro (2-2) earned the win in relief for the JetHawks. The right-hander tossed two and two-thirds innings and struck out three. He allowed one run on three hits. Jonny Drozd followed with a scoreless inning out of the Lancaster bullpen.

Lake Elsinore starter Jacob Nix (3-3) struggled and suffered the loss. He surrendered nine runs (seven earned) on 14 hits in just four and one-third innings.

The JetHawks hit the road on Monday night to open a three-game series against the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. Right hander Trey Killian (6-7) will start for Lancaster against left-hander Michael Boyle (4-1). First pitch is 7:05 p.m.
