[Los Angeles] – The Hispanic Scholarship Fund, the nation’s largest not-for-profit organization supporting Hispanic American higher education, announced today that Lowe’s is contributing $500,000 toward scholarships for the organization.
The contribution will be used to provide financial assistance to undergraduate Hispanic students enrolled in accredited colleges or universities during the 2015-2016 academic year. The scholarships provided will help students cover costs, such as tuition, books, supplies and other essentials for the academic year.
Since 2009, Lowe’s has had a long-standing partnership with HSF supporting the organization’s scholarship efforts. This year’s contribution helps HSF ensure that exceptional Latino students across the country receive the support needed to complete a higher education and become leaders in their professions and communities.

Interesting. There are black scholarship funds too. I suggest if there dare be a white student scholarship fund, it would be considered racist! Anyone donating to that fund would be also called tpracist and there would be people picketing out front of their business. Since white students are in the minority in many universities, I think it’s time for a change in these racist scholarships, and all students regardless of race,gender or even age should be able to apply! Just saying. I’m offended!

Ah, yes I am offended. In this economy, there are many more kids needing and deserving of help with costs of higher education. And I do find this racist because white children are now in the minority in many areas.i think race shouldn’t be the criteria for jobs,housing,or scholarships!!period!
I agree about the Caucasian students being in the minority. My son was one of three Caucasian students in his 1st grade class last year (in a class of 26). MAYBE there was a time for “minority” favoritism but not anymore! it’s just not fair PERIOD!
