The Santa Clarita Farmers’ Market will participate in the upcoming ‘California Small Farm Conference ‘Cultivating the Next Generation’ scheduled for March 4-6 at the Hyatt Regency in Valencia.
The California Small Farm Conference is the state’s premier gathering of small farmers, agricultural students, farmers’ market managers and other involved in the small farm direct marketing. The three-day conference includes farm tours, focused workshops, keynote speakers and more.
“We are excited to be part of this conference to network with other market managers throughout the State of California and share ideas,” stated Karen Schott, Operations Manager for the Ventura County Certified Farmers’ Market Association.
The California Small Farm Conference is hosting a food and wine tasting to kick off the California conference on Sunday, March 4 at 5 p.m. featuring approximately 50 local chefs, small farms and wineries. The tasting is open to the general public as well as conference attendees. The cost is $30 per person.
The Santa Clarita Farmers’ Market (part of the Ventura County Certified Farmers’ Market Association) is held on Sundays at the College of the Canyons, Parking Lot 8 on Valencia Boulevard from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon.
