A house fire in Valencia was reported Monday at 3:05 p.m.
“The fire was in the residential neighborhood of Essex Place,” said Tony Atkins, inspector for the Los Angeles County FireDepartment. “No injuries were reported.”
Essex Place is in the Valencia Northbridge subdivision.
Emergency personnel along with Southern California Edison and The Gas Company were on scene at 3:11 p.m.
“The cause is currently unknown,“ said Dennis Cross, 22 battalion chief for the Los Angeles Fire Department. “Smoke and fire were visible from the street when emergency personnel arrived.”
Emergency personnel immediately began search and rescue when they arrived on the scene but found the home to be empty.
“A second story bedroom had caught on fire and spread to another second story bedroom and the attic,” said Cross.
An investigation is being conducted and the homeowners have been notified, Cross said.
