Friday is opening night for the two-act comedy melodrama “Bullshot Crummond” at the Canyon Theatre Guild on Main Street in Old Town Newhall.
The play’s a send-up of low-budget 1930s detective movies and typifies British heroism at its dumbest. The cast features Barry Agin, Sanya Arnold and Tyler Joy, with Christopher Flowers as Bullshot Crummond.
There’s a free wine and champagne reception Friday at 7 p.m. and curtains rise at 8. Get your tickets at http://www.canyontheatre.org/shows. Bullshot runs at the CTG through February.
If you’d rather kick out the jams Friday night, hot young Santa Clarita alt-rock band The Narwhals play their first gig of 2016, at the Teragram Ballroom on 7th Street in Downtown Los Angeles.
The two-time SCVTV “House Blend” alums (as The Feaver in Season 1 and The Narwhals in Season 4) are showcasing tunes from the quartet’s first EP and some new stuff they wrote over the holidays.

The Narwhals
Doors open at 8, and admission to the all-ages gig is just $12. Get tickets at teragramballroom.com or at the door. Here’s a map. And check out TheNarwhalsMusic.com to find out more about Narwhals members Dylan, Braeden, Zack and Cole.
