The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors will consider adopting major changes to the Agua Dulce Community Standards District on Tuesday – changes that have been in the works since 2010.
The new zoning calls for minimum 2-acre lot sizes for new subdivisions with a minimum depth of 165 feet and a minimum width of 165 feet; also continuing are rural street standards that allow for narrower streets without sidewalks, curbs or gutters.
The county Regional Planning Commission approved the changes in 2012 and the Board of Superivsors held a hearing at which members of the Agua Dulce Town Council made some further suggestions.
According to a memo to the supervisors from county attorney John F. Krattli, those changes have been incorporated into the final document. They involved “the number of shipping containers and dogs allowed on individual lots, and the required procedure to modify certain development standards,” the memo states.
Also addressed in the special zoning for Agua Dulce are street improvements, public trails, lighting, signage, the allowance of cargo shipping containers and dogs, the expansion of allowable home-based occupations, and significant ridgeline and hillside management area protection.
