As I’m reading what the liberal media have to say about the 2013 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), apparently I was not only at a different event, but I was also in an alternate universe.

You can find article after article ridiculing CPAC and the various speakers such as Rick Perry, for instance. They imply that Perry was being ridiculous when he said, “The president releasing illegals from federal jails early is like a legal jailbreak.” I guess somehow Janet Napolitano’s assertion that she was not involved in the decision makes all the sense in the world, because I don’t see them criticizing that decision.

It’s important not the take things out of context. Perry was speaking of how the media try to lead people to believe the country is shifting away from conservative leanings. I guess that’s why the country voted in November to leave things the way they were, including keeping the conservative majority in Congress?

Perry spoke about the lunacy of a full-time legislature that can’t seem to get anything done. He spoke about the president who is campaigning against a plan he himself put into place. And he spoke about the president shutting down White House tours to the citizens who own it, while allowing those who make out a check for half a million dollars an up-close-and-personal visit.

Ms. Foley, could you not hear through all the liberal smoke?

Another headline read, “Rachel Maddow Went to CPAC Once, Got Spit On.” According to the transcript from “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” what happened was this:

Leno: Now CPAC, that convention is this week, right?

Maddow: The conservative convention, that’s right.

Leno: I assume you are not invited. (Laughter from audience.)

Maddow: I went one year.

Leno: Did you go one year?

Maddow: I did one year. I had one guy scream at me in an escalator; it got spit all over my face (waves hands mock frantically). But aside from that, people were very nice. They had made – I work at MSNBC, and they had made doormats with MSNBC hosts on the doormats, which I thought was kind of awesome.

It’s all about spin. Clearly she was not intentionally spit upon. Nobody walked up to her and spit on her, as the headline would seem to indicate. And she goes on to say other than that, the people were very nice to her. I have to conclude the writer is going out of his or her way to ensure conservatives look so bad that no liberal would even attempt to speak to one.

Then there was the headline, “John Eastman, National Organization For Marriage Leader, Calls Adoption ‘Second-Best Option’.” The story stated:

“The leader of a prominent anti-gay organization called Supreme Court Chief John Roberts’ decision to adopt children the ‘second-best option’” (and elaborated), “Certainly adoption in families headed, like Chief Roberts’ family is, by a heterosexual couple, is by far the second-best option.”

Why were so many so offended by this statement? Do they really need a translation? Many studies and statistics show that the optimal home environment for kids is to be brought up in the home of the loving biological mother and father. The second-best option is being brought up in an adopted home with male and female parents. Why? I don’t know. Ask the experts. But when you look at the statistics of a young man or woman growing up without a father or a mother, they show they are more likely to have many more life challenges and issues. It’s just fact.

Sadly, it seems the liberal media will do anything they can to demonize conservatives, no matter the collateral damage they leave behind.

Or maybe it’s the only way they can sell ad space.

Either way, it’s waste of electrons.
