Bynum won both events that she competed, tying her season-high on vault with a 9.875 and recording a 9.95 on floor exercise, which helped the Bruins take over the lead after three rotations. Bynum’s 9.95 on floor was her fourth score of 9.95 or higher this season, and she moved into the top spot in the national rankings on floor with a RQS of 9.935. She is also the Bruins’ top-ranked vaulter, checking in at 29th nationally with a RQS of 9.845. Bynum now has a team-high four event titles and also leads the team with six scores of 9.9 or higher and four scores of 9.95 or higher.

This is the third consecutive week that UCLA has won Specialist of the Week honors – all by different gymnasts. Angi Cipra won on Feb. 9, and Sophina DeJesus earned the honor on Feb. 16. The Pac-12 weekly honor is Bynum’s second of the season and her career. She was previously named Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week on Feb. 9.

Oregon State won the other two awards this week, with Madeline Gardiner being named the Gymnast of the Week, and Mary Jacobsen winning Freshman/Newcomer of the Week.
