The National Weather Service is forecasting an 80 percent chance of showers Monday across the Santa Clarita Valley with possible hail in the valleys and a dusting of powder on the mountaintops as the snow level drops to 3,100 feet.

Highs of 54 degrees are expected for most of the valley, with highs of just 42 in eastern Canyon Country and Agua Dulce. Rain should taper off tonight and give way to areas of frost before Tuesday warms to a high of 57 degrees (48 in eastern regions).

Monday brings west-southwest winds of 15 and 20 mph to the SCV with gusts up to 30 mph, calming Tuesday to 5-10 mph.

Temperatures should continue to warm throughout the week, reaching into the 70s for the weekend.

Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers before 10pm. Areas of frost after 10pm. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 37. Breezy, with a west northwest wind between 20 and 25 mph becoming calm. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.

Tuesday: Areas of frost before 10am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 57. Calm wind becoming south southwest between 5 and 10 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 58. Southwest wind between 5 and 10 mph.
