The Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival is holding auditions for their summer production of Shakespeare’s Henry IV part 1, directed by Stephen Whelan.
Auditions are April 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 pm. All roles are available. Casting is race and gender blind. Strong consideration for actors familiar with Shakespearean language, and/or have experience performing in an outdoor venue.
The production opens July 13th and runs three weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) in July. There is preview performance July 12th. The Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival performs at Rivendale in Ed Davis Park in Santa Clarita where we have held for the last three years.
Auditions are by appointment only. Actors are expected to prepare a 2-minute classical monologue, and be familiar with the play. Actors interested in auditioning should contact the company at production@scshakespearefest.org.
The free Shakespeare in the Park is a part of the SummerFest at Rivendale. This year the festival is expanding to include other musical performances and theatrical presentations.
