Detectives from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station are seeking public assistance in locating additional victims in a case involving a man allegedly representing himself as an heir to a large corporation.

On Monday, January 21st, 2013, Santa Clarita Valley Station Deputies were contacted regarding a burglary. The informant, a 40 year-old college student, reportedly began a conversation with a classmate who allegedly identified himself as “Stephen Disney,” a family member associated with a large, well know corporation. After the informant explained to Stephen that she volunteers her time with a nonprofit organization, Stephen gave the victim passes to Disneyland for use in a nonprofit raffle.

A raffle was conducted with the proceeds going to the non-profit organization. The winner of the raffle took the winning passes to Disneyland only to find out that the passes had not been activated.

Detectives began an investigation and ultimately discovered Stephen had allegedly entered a retail business and stole the Disneyland passes from the location. As the investigation continued, detectives learned Stephen’s true name was Stephen David Urquidez, a 51 year-old male from Canyon Country. Detectives further learned through the course of the investigation that Stephen had allegedly used a fake driver’s license in the name of Stephen Disney, along with allegedly using fake W-2 tax forms showing income from the Walt Disney Corporation.

Detectives contacted the Walt Disney Corporation who stated Stephen Urquidez a.k.a “Stephen Disney” had no affiliation to either the corporation, or the Disney family.

On Tuesday, May 21st, 2013, Stephen Urquidez was arrested on felony burglary charges for allegedly stealing the Disneyland passes. He was also in possession of a driver’s license containing a forged state seal, a felony. He was booked at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. Hours later he posted a $20,000 bond and was released.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Detectives are seeking public assistance in locating additional victims in this case. Investigators are attempting to locate anyone else who may have had contact with this man under similar circumstances. If you feel you can be of assistance in this case, please contact Santa Clarita Station Detective Elliott at 661-255-1121, or by calling LA Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Stephen David Urquidez,
