Principal_for_the_Day__2010_001[SCV Education Fdn.] – Do you want to learn more about your local school? Then join us at Principal for a Day 2014. Business leaders, community members and parents are invited to spend the morning shadowing a local public school principal or district administrator by registering for the upcoming Principal for a Day event, sponsored annually by the SCV Education Foundation.

This year’s event is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The day kicks off with each participant spending a couple of hours with their chosen principal or district leader, followed by a catered luncheon with all principals, district administrators, and sponsors attending. Secure a spot at your favorite school by registering for Principal for a Day today.

A panel discussion will be held at the luncheon with the topic “Beyond the Classroom and into the Workforce: A look at the new Common Core” presented by a local educator with all five district superintendents.

The Common Core State Standards provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn, so teachers and parents know what they need to do to help them. With American students fully prepared for the future, our communities will be best positioned to compete successfully in the global economy. Join Principal for a Day to learn more about this important initiative.
