The City of Santa Clarita is doing its part to conserve water during California’s drought by reducing water use by 20 percent or more throughout the community.
Residents are now being asked to help the City with its conservation efforts by reporting broken sprinklers and overwatering in public spaces through the City’s 24-7 eService app.
The City’s eService application is a great way to report water issues and other areas of concern in the City’s public areas and medians.
Smartphone users can download the City of Santa Clarita eService application on an iPhone or Android to quickly and conveniently snap a photo of the public space, upload to the system and report concerns for review.
In addition to sprinkler issues, the mobile application allows residents to report graffiti, abandoned vehicles, transit issues, street repairs, traffic lights and a host of other issues the City handles.
Residents play an important role in helping City staff identify public areas where sprinklers may need attention or where over-watering may be taking place.
If residents see water in the roadway or believe a median sprinkler is broken, they are encouraged to report the issue using the eService app so the City can quickly address it.
“The City is vigilant about conservation and is doing its best to monitor and reduce our water use wherever possible,” said Mayor Laurene Weste. “Residents also play an important role in the City’s conservation efforts by reporting concerns when they see them. The sooner we know about potential issues, the faster we can investigate and make necessary repairs.”
An after-hours Landscape Maintenance District hotline at (661) 286-4050 is also available for non-emergency calls about sprinkler issues in medians and public spaces. When calling the after-hours hotline residents will be asked what the issue is, where they saw it, and to provide a phone number for follow up.

Let’s all conserve water so nestle can continue to bottle the little water we still have, sell it and continue making money.
Stop adding plants in the middle of the roads !!!
How about putting a complete stop to building new homes and strip malls to County Line, seeing as we are in a drought.
STOP the Ice Bucket Challenges – because that isn’t a waste of water right!?! Especially when people don’t do it on their Lawns but on their concrete driveways instead….stupid!
Oops. The sprinklers were on mid day at main ball field at Central Psrk
That’s ridiculous. The city has billboards up suggesting that we water late evening early/morning because water evaporates less quickly and absorbs better when it’s cool. They need to heed their own advice.
Shiuldnt all the new homes being built should be required to put in desert lanscaping? And the city of santa clarita quit putting in lush foliage in all the medians??
Eh
You guys should check out the colony town homes in canyon country. The sprinklers are on all night. When I wake up and walk outside, everything is flooded. Can’t even walk my dogs on grass. That bad.
No more new homes till the water situation improves.
We are really consciously working on saving water inside and out. When we don’t drink a full glass of water,we give it to an outside plant.wash mtpy face with cold water cause it takes so long to get hot.brush teeth with water off. Really hard to chg. old habits.old coffee goes to the roses with the grounds. They love it. Collecting distiller water dripping outside from the AC and put it in my iron.lol no, really
Hi Shirley. Glad to see you two looking great!
We’re doing the challenge tomorrow standing in the pool with pool water. Oh, no cannonballing!
I have yet to see any plan on how the city will be conserving water.

I’d put in fake turf in my backyard but the new rebates only pay if I put in plants that need water! Great decision there!
