As part of its ongoing 45th Anniversary celebration, College of the Canyons will host a free community wide picnic and accompanying screening of the classic Walt Disney film “The Love Bug” on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 13.
Originally released in 1969 — the same year that College of the Canyons was established — “The Love Bug” tells the tale of a racecar driver who rises to the top of his sport thanks in part to the antics of a unique Volkswagen named ‘Herbie’ with a mind of its own.
This COC Family Movie Night event is free to all community members, with students, employees, alumni and other friends of the college encouraged to attend.
The picnic portion of the evening will begin at 6 p.m., with attendees invited to pack a picnic dinner and bring blankets and chairs for an evening of family fun under the stars.
Accompanying children’s activities will also be available at this time.
The movie screening will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m.
Both portions of the event will take place in the COC Honor Grove, located on the college’s Valencia campus.
Complimentary popcorn, candy and root beer floats will be available to all attendees.

This is obviously just a rip off of the 2005 classic Herbie: Fully Loaded
I loved that movie
Kobayashi Maru: I’m hoping you are being sarcastic. Either that or you are far too young to recognize the picture as being from the original ( and classic) 1968 movie.
Kobayashi is jokeing or at least I hope lmfao!
Classic! Love it!
Think I will jump onto a jet plane, fly back to SCV, watch a movie and drive, or fly back. Good for you COC–keep doing great things for the community
