Teens flock to social media platforms to stay connected with friends. However, they are also unknowingly being exposed to certain online dangers by doing so. SCV Sheriff Deputy Josh Dubin and Canyon High School Assistant Principal Sherry Richenbach will uncover those risks with a “Teens & Social Media” workshop on Thursday, Dec. 4, from 6 p.m. to 8 pm, at Placerita Junior High School.
This interactive presentation will focus on what parents should know when it comes to technology, and how to keep the lines of communication open.
Students: Come and learn how to be smart, safe, and responsible online. Learn about the laws and how they affect your social media use.
Parents/Guardians: Come and get information about some of the social media websites and apps your teens are using and what you can do to encourage online safety and responsibility.
STUDENTS ARE ASKED TO BRING THEIR CELL PHONE TO THE PRESENTATION.
Parents, students, educators and community members are invited to attend this free informative workshop. No reservations are required. Placerita Junior High School is located at 25015 N. Newhall Avenue, Newhall, CA. 91321.
