Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich

[Supv. Antonovich] – Los Angeles County Mayor Michael D. Antonovich cast the lone “no” vote on a Board of Supervisors motion to develop an implementation plan for President Obama’s Executive Order which would allow illegal immigrants to receive multiple benefits including Social Security numbers, work permits and welfare.

“Legal immigration is a vital component of American life, both culturally and economically. However, the President’s Executive Order to grant benefits to individuals here illegally, was ruled unlawful by a Federal Court. It is premature for the County to move forward with developing an implementation plan when the Executive Order in question has been deemed unconstitutional,” said Mayor Antonovich.

The ruling by the Federal Court, which questions the President’s legal authority, was in response to an injunctive relief filed by a bipartisan group of 26 states led by their governors or attorneys general.

Executive order? Illegal immigrants? Seems like common sense to me. Illegal means illegal for a reason and Obama doesn’t have the authority to make such orders.

Work permits, SSN, welfare and Drivers license…are they really going to be considered “illegal” any longer? Seems like somebody is setting them up with all the “legal documents” for legal citizenship.

good job finally some good news illegal means illegal what part of illegal dont these people understand?These people must go thru the system like everyone else out system cant take all of these people like this its really unfair to every one who has came here legally and its crazy driving to work 3/4 of the people on the freeways are illegal aliens that drive like crap it really sucks im sick of it I hate California im out of here!!
