For the third year in a row The Master’s College women’s basketball team made it to the 32-team NAIA National Championship Tournament, and for the third year in a row the Lady Mustangs lose their opening round game.
Earlier Wednesday the 4th seeded Lady Mustangs lost to 5th seed Shawnee State of Ohio 69-57.
Sophomore Bianca Cubello led The Master’s with 14 points, five blocks and four rebounds. Junior Nicole Nitake scored 13 and senior Whitney Best added 12 points and three assists.
Going into the game the Lady Mustangs were ranked 5th in the nation in 3-point shooting accuracy, but managed just 1-for-10 from behind the arc. The Master’s finish the season 24-9 and champions of the Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament.
