The Palmdale City Library will present some of the best of the popular TED talks at the Library, 700 E. Palmdale Blvd, on Monday, June 1 from 6 to 7:30 pm.
This free program is open to the public, and participants will be able to hear some of the greatest ideas of the world’s top minds – ideas which can change the way people think about the world.
“Expand your horizons and learn about some amazing new ideas,” said Library Director Thomas Vose.
TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design (TED) converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages. Meanwhile, independently run TED events help share ideas in communities around the world. TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less).
The Palmdale City Library is open seven days a week. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.
