Los Angeles County Fire Department officials have 35 percent containment of a brush fire in Gorman as of Friday at 5 p.m.
The blaze was reported shortly after 1 p.m. near Highway 138 and Cement Plant Road. A command point was set up at Highway 138 and Ridge Route Road.
“Once they give a containment figure, it means they’re making really good progress,” said Inspector Keith Mora of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“We got dispatched at 1:19 p.m., winds are 10-15 miles per hour,” Mora said.
There are 195 personnel on the scene. Reports from fire fighters on the ground indicated the fire consumed 35 to 40 acres, although the Fire Department’s PIO pegged the acreage at 150.
Two homes were evacuated in case the winds shifted the fire to the east, but the winds were changing back late Friday and the flames were calming down.

Because that’s where they will start building first.
They just found a human skull there. Either body dump or tragic accident.
