FRANZ KELLER Strolling Tenori-on Performances

The Tenori-on is an electronic musical instrument designed and created by the Japanese artist Toshio Iwai and Yu Nishibori of the Music and Human Interface Group at the Yamaha Center for Advanced Sound Technology. It consists of a hand-held screen with switches that are activated in a number of different ways to create sounds.

 

Soundsuit Roaming Exhibit

Local artist Pam Zamora will display her version of performance artists Nick Cave’s famous Soundsuits (wearable fabric sculptures that are bright, whimsical, and other-worldly).  Zamora’s  Soundsuit will travel through the various spaces at SOUND SLAM for visitor’s the see.

 

SILENT DISCO

Come out and join the Silent Disco.  Put on our wireless headphones, and grove to the music that only you can hear!  Those without the headphones hear no music, giving the effect of a room full of people dancing to nothing.

Professor Wes Weasely invites you to make your own music. Known for its weird effects in movies and pop songs, the Theremin’s unique tone modulation will be available for the public’s enjoyment. By simply waving one’s hands around the electromagnetic antenna, audiences can create sounds, ranging from spooky to whimsical to spacey.

ARTree Drumming Jams   

Mr. Fudale Is a drummer that Toured and recorded with the Drifters from 1977 to 1979 . He has also performed on TV and the  concert stage with bands that have opened for Sarah Evans, Lee Greenwood , Glen Fry and many others .  He also has studied Jazz and World Music at Cal Arts , and is  also a  Remo Health Rhythms Facilitator.

Rob Ray makes site specific electronic installations, wondrous public games and experimental videos. He has relocated to Los Angeles, CA from Chicago via Rensselaer’s Electronic Arts MFA Program in Troy, NY.

The Third Room is an interactive immersive installation that includes projection, quadrophonic sound, robotics, interfaces, and a Kinect camera.
