Bill Miranda, CEO of the SCV Latino Chamber of Commerce, sent the following e-mail message to his membership Thursday. SCV Chamber President Terri Crain confirmed the news.
Bill Miranda
I am happy to announce the merger of our chamber with the SCV Chamber of Commerce. This will make a stronger organization representing the entire Santa Clarita businesses in our community.
Key points of the merger:
1. The Latino Chamber will become the Latino Business Alliance, partnering with the SCV Chamber. We will maintain our identity, networking events and three major events: Spring Cultural, Gala and Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead).
2. Our members will automatically become members of the SCV Chamber. As such you will have all the benefits of membership including attending their networking events, joining committees, getting business/leadership training, use of their facilities and getting the support of their staff.
3. On your renewal date you will be asked to renew as members of the SCV Chamber at their renewal rates.
We are gaining a huge partner that will help make it easier for Latino businesses to market our products and services to a bigger market place. We are also gaining infrastructure that would have taken us years to construct. It’s a win/win for us.
Please join me in welcoming this action and in expanding our business opportunities together. Also, don’t forget to attend our Business Mixer next Wednesday at Trinity Classical Academy. It will be a great one!
