A Saugus woman was found dead in her bed this morning and her live-in boyfriend was escorted from the scene for questioning.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives investigates the suspicious death at 20765 Plum Canyon Road and identified the victim as Karla Brada, 31.

“While there is no apparent evidence of foul play, investigators are processing the location for additional potential evidence,” a sheriff’s statement said.

The statement said Brada was found unresponsive by her boyfriend, who called emergency medical personnel and the SCV Sheriff’s Station.

Neighbors said they heard loud noises coming from the condominium several times Wednesday night and that deputies were in the area more than once.

Brada was not breathing when paramedics and deputies arrived at her home shortly before 9 a.m.

“The Santa Clarita station received a call that there was a female at this location not breathing, LA County Fire was dispatched and deputies responded,” said Lt. Eduardo Hernandez of sheriff’s Homicide Bureau.

Paramedics pronounced Brada dead at the scene.

“We are detaining one individual as a witness right now to try and identify what he knows and how he may or may not be involved in this incident,” Hernandez explained.

“We won’t know cause of death for a couple of days until the coroner conducts their investigation and provides the Sheriff’s Department with the results of their tests.”

The man taken away was identified by neighbors as Eric Allen Earle, whom they said had been arrested less than a month ago for allegedly beating Brada. They said detectives came and took pictures of her injuries, which they said included a bloodied face, a black eye and bruises on her arms.

A booking sheet for Earle showed he was arrested Aug. 5 and spent a couple of days in jail before posting bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on that case Sept. 6.

Asked about the arrest record of the man taken from the scene, Hernandez said it was being taken into consideration.

“We are looking in to that aspect and conferring with Santa Clarita detectives to see if there is a history of domestic violence, and confirm that aspect of it,” he said.
