The Santa Clarita City Council is inviting residents, businesses and community leaders to the Annual State of the City Luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. at the Hyatt Valencia grand ballroom.
“This year marks a milestone for the City as it celebrates its 25th year. Join me and the City Council as we take a look back at a substantial list of accomplishments and share future goals at the State of the City luncheon,” commented Mayor Frank Ferry.
Each year the City Council has an annual tradition of presenting information to the community at a formal luncheon highlighting what the City is working on, how funds are being spent and what types of programs and projects are being planned for the upcoming year.
The “Cheers to 25 Years: The Best is Yet to Come” themed event will include updates on current projects such as: the Canyon Country Community Center, hundreds of acres of new open space, the Santa Clarita Public Library, law enforcement milestones, traffic improvements, upgraded landscape median projects, and much more. It will also feature a look at up and coming additions including: a new park and ride facility for commuters, adding lights to fields at the Sports Complex and designing two new fields at Central Park.
In addition to these projects, the luncheon will provide updates on how the City is actively working with the business community to assist them during these difficult economic times.
The cost of the luncheon is $40 per person or $400 for a table of 10, and includes a commemorative gift. The event is open to the public with advanced reservations.
