BarryWardBW2013 Male Performer of The Year, BARRY WARD is known by his friends and fans as “The Bear.” Traveling in from Colorado, this is Ward’s second appearance in Newhall. Inspirations for his songs come from his experience growing up in the heart of rural America. His singing and songwriting are a tribute to Western traditions and lifestyles that he shares with his heart. As a 4th generation farmer and rancher, he writes of the men and women whose lives are entwined with the seasons, the land, and the will of God. Barry began his life’s journey as a Kansas farm boy with cow manure on his boots and diesel fuel on his jeans. From those humble beginnings his journey has included performing at the Cultural Olympiad at the 2002 Olympics and Carnegie Hall in New York City.

2013 was a banner year beginning with the Academy of Western Artists Will Rogers Award for Outstanding Song of The Year (“Eli Crow” from his West of Dodge CD. In the fall he released his 9th CD, Lonesome County Road. In November, The Western Music Association named him 2013 Male Performer of The Year.

EliBarsiColorELI BARSI, driven by her passion for music, strives for excellence both on and off the stage.  For over 25 years, she’s entertained on both sides of the border. Early in her career she performed mainly in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia then moved to Nashville, Tennessee to hone her songwriting skills. After years performing on both sides of the border, she began her recording career releasing albums and radio singles. Invited to perform with the legendary Sons of the Pioneers in 2002, she called Branson, Missouri home for 8 years. Returning to Saskatchewan, Eli continues to record and perform. “Portrait of a Cowgirl,” her newest album, is burning up the Western charts.  A talented artist embracing Western Roots, Gospel, New Country, Bluegrass, Traditional Country & Folk music, Eli’s show is always uplifting, mixing standards with thought provoking originals. An exceptional yodeler, she’s as comfortable performing in an intimate setting as a grand stadium.

What others say:

“I must say I give an A+ in all phases of songwriting, for lyrics, instrumentation and vocal excellence. Barry, keep doing what you are doing…your writing and vocal future –it’s very bright!!!” ~ Jack Hannah, Sons of the San Joaquin

“Barry Ward has a lot going for him, not the least of which is credibility. Barry is right at home behind a saddle horn, the steering wheel of a combine, or a microphone.” ~ Orin Friesen, The Rockin’ Banjo Ranch

“Eli Barsi’s “original vocal sound, song writing skills, musicianship, yodeling and excellent stage presence are clearly evident in every performance.” ~ Texas Cowboy Poetry Gathering
