Valencia Greens Meets Orange Bulldozer

The building that formerly housed “The Greens” in Valencia was razed after years of neglect.

Bulldozers knocked down the building Thursday near the corner of Valencia and McBean.

“It was ultimately a public safety issue as far as the city was concerned,” said Tom Cole, Santa Clarita Community Development Director.

Crews will be removing trash and debris in the next few days.

It’s demise began after the building caught fire in 2008 and became a beacon for illegal activities.

The owner pulled a demolition permit through the city and obtained clearance from AQMD.

There is no word yet on what or who might take its place in the future but the current owner is speaking with a few interested parties.
