Giving adults the opportunity to enjoy a romantic night out for Valentine’s Day, the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation has planned a fun-filled evening exclusively for kids on Feb. 14 at William S. Hart Regional Park in Newhall.
Beginning at 5 p.m., the four-hour event will allow parents to drop children ages 5-12 off at the park’s Hart Hall — where they will enjoy a variety of fun, safe activities that will last until the 9 p.m. pickup time. The schedule includes:
5:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m.: Games, DJ playing kid-friendly tunes
6:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m.: Craft activity
7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m.: Movie time, with ice cream and popcorn
8:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m.: Board games
“Too often, busy schedules and a lack of child care mean that parents are unable to take a little time for themselves — even on Valentine’s Day,” said William S. Hart Regional Park Superintendent Norman Phillips. “With this Date Night event, we want to play a small but meaningful role in helping make sure that every member of the family can enjoy a great night on a special holiday.”
The cost for this event is only $20 per child, but space is limited. Pre-registration is required, and is open now through Feb. 11. To register or obtain more information, please call the park office at 661-259-0855.
