WE FOUND A HOME!

Until now, the answer to  “Where are you located?” was as varied as our projects. Our caravan will soon be parked in Old Town Newhall. We are so excited to move into the building next to CASI Ceramics in a courtyard of businesses shared with OutWest Western Boutique. Ample parking in lot next door, Canyon Theater Guild across the street, and beautiful mature TREE growing right outside our door. Perfect.

Some of our ongoing, established events will continue in their current locations, but we are looking forward to an expanded list of art opportunities in our new home.

Gratitude goes out to the recent and past donors who are making this dream a reality.

RECENT ARTree EVENTS

Thursdays @ Newhall:
July ArtSLAM

Instructors Suzanne Ulloa and Bob Hernandez brought their talents and enthusiasm.

2015 Speaker Series: June

The delightful Melissa Shepherd helped us understand how to bring balance to our lives to allow our artistic side to shine.

The Many Faces of Art

Serving 24 kids everyday for 2 weeks, this series hosted by the Newhall Community Center has allowed us to expand our commitment to the community. Board members, teachers and volunteers came multiple days (and in some cases, everyday) to make this a success. We thank you.

Master Watercolor Class

Honing their watercolor skills, kids had the guidance from two highly-skilled artists this session. Instructor Michael Powell was assisted by watercolor artist Gary Friedman. We thank both experts for their efforts.

UPCOMING ARTree EVENTS

2015 Speaker Series: July
Richard Ramirez Jr.

The Art of Designing TV
For over 20 years, production designer Richard Ramirez Jr. has been part of the team that gives your favorite TV shows their distinctive look. From “That 70’s Show” and “CSI:NY” to “Make It or Break It” and “Switched at Birth,” Ramirez will tell us how shows are designed, and why so many producers like filming in Santa Clarita.

Thursday, July 23rd at 6:30pm at the Old Town Newhall Library

Brought to you in partnership with CalArts Community Arts Partnership (CAP) and the City of Santa Clarita’s Thursdays @ Newhall

Relax and Craft: July

Due to our instructor having to evacuate because of our recent Calgrove Fire, we apologize for having to cancel last month’s class.

Our project for this month is this lovely garden sculpture made with wire and stones.

Wednesday, July 22nd at 6:30pm at the Old Town Newhall Library

Supported by the Friends of the Santa Clarita Public Library, this is a free workshop.
