Jerry
I don’t see anything wrong with it . Why cause a mess
You had all summer to do this thank SC always can count on u !!!
That intersection is already bad at that time ugh! Carlos Iraheta
Why not do the work overnight and have it cleaned up before the 730 school traffic?
Veronica Moreira great now we need to hurry to be on this side before 8:30. Gggrrrrr
Great! That intersection sucks to begin with

Does this ‘beautification’ include median plants and trees? I sure hope our city has learned its lesson from those that use so much water.
Steven Godin Jr.
Stupid! we r gonna have to member so we can leave a lil earlieer
Great! Perfect timing! Kids starts going back to school soon plus the nightmare when going to work.
Makes some nice turn lanes for the new community center/ rollerhockey rink!!!
Its that happening?
The community center is, we just need them to go with master plan 2 which includes a rink.
Cool
Corey Miron
Scv, don’t do that to us. We already stress a lot with the current traffic. Work overnight.
Francisca Manglapus Matthew Rosales
It sure would have been good to have alternative routes through SCV when it was being planned those that cross cut the valley and made easier access from the 14 Fwy to the 5 Fwy instead of just Soledad all these years several main streets would have helped traffic so so much.

I hope they are NOT planning to put plants, trees, or grass on the median-in the middle of this drought.
are we really gonna get some roller hockey back over here Jerry Hickerson…. please god.
The only improvement that intersection needs is to widen Sierra Highway so that traffic doesn’t back up for 1/2 a mile during rush hours. It doesn’t need trees or bushes or grass in the medium. It needs more lanes or less traffic.
Hey, maybe they could actually REPAVE it properly, rather than just patch here and there.
thanks for the heads up…
now if ONLY they would make it a 3 turn lane, or a LONG light, or a LONGER section of the 2-left turn lanes.
update:
aha!!! I clicked on the photo and read the rest of the text blurb. They read my mind, but let them read it some more… they need to do this for Westbound traffic too!
“This project will install pavers, irrigation, and landscaping along Sierra Highway from Via Princessa to Soledad Canyon Road. This project will also modify the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Sierra Highway with a triple left-turn pocket from northbound Sierra Highway onto westbound Soledad Canyon Road. Construction is estimated to take approximately 4 to 5 months to complete.
Noooo
This is gonna be another hot mess
.
Liz Gray hope u don’t go this away to go to school. But you might be past it early enough to avoid it.
I don’t! ? phew!!! Newhall ranch ;)
That intersection needs its. Always thought that it was kind of “sad” and desolate looking. CC deserves some revamping.
Community improvements are good, yet frustrating with delays. Oh welll……let’s just deal with it.
Allison Ramos suckage. Good luck getting home lmao
Joseph Haddad
Doing the work overnight means disturbing the residents nearby. There are homes, condos, and mobile home parks in close proximity to this intersection.
And that left turn from northbound Sierra to westbound Soledad is a bad one, triple left turn lanes should help since there are three lanes to turn into.
However, it would also help if Santa Clarita Transit changed the time stop for westbound buses from the stop immediately west of Sierra to the stop in front of the library. There’s a turn lane for the library so if a bus is running slightly ahead of schedule and has to wait a few minutes it is not blocking traffic. At present the bus waits at the time stop which is just west of Sierra and so blocks the right lane of westbound Soledad.
@Jennifer Rashid, what makes you think Santa Clarita was planned? This is not a master planned city, this is a mishmash of a number of smaller communities that grew together without a great deal of coordination. And if you think it’s bad now, you should have lived here 25 years ago.
They should have a separate Bus Turn Out Lane by Vallarta like they have over by IHOP so the traffic doesn’t back up in the intersection. There is plenty of room for this.
