On Friday night, progressive blues band Five Yard Dog takes the patio stage at Wolf Creek Brewery – not the restaurant – on Rye Canyon Loop in the Mann Biomedical Park.
Spokesdog Doyle Smith promises we won’t hear butcher jobs of the same old blues standards. The band’s on from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and you can take your own food, but no beverages except water. For more info, check out the band’s website at FiveYardDog.com.
You know summer’s almost over when the city of Santa Clarita stages the last of its Concerts in the Park for the season on Saturday night. Headlining is Mirage – Visions of Fleetwood Mac, one of the world’s best-known Mac tribute bands.
Singer Michelle Tyler invokes the sound and vision of Stevie Nicks, who’s been quoted as saying Tyler is “the closest thing to the real Stevie Nicks.” Showtime is 7 p.m., and it’ll be a beautiful, warm evening. It’s free for all ages. Find out more at santa-clarita.com/concerts.
And lastly on a programming note, SCVTV’s “House Blend” hosted by yours truly is on summer vacation, but all five seasons are archived for on-demand viewing at scvhouseblend.com.
Santa Clarita journalist Stephen K. Peeples is a features writer and photographer for AM 1220 KHTS Radio News and the station’s award-winning website (HometownStation.com), and for SCVTV’s SCVNews.com. Peeples also hosts and co-produces SCVTV’s acclaimed “House Blend” music and interview program, and posts more entertainment news and reviews on his own site at http://www.stephenkpeeples.com.
