Firefighters battled a brush fire that scorched 7.8 acres Tuesday afternoon near the I-5 Freeway at Calgrove Boulevard.

Firefighters battled a brush fire that scorched 7.8 acres Tuesday afternoon near the I-5 Freeway at Calgrove Boulevard.

The fire was reported at 3:37 p.m., and a 115 personnel were assigned to the blaze.

Interstate 5 was closed at the 5/ 14 interchange.

The fire was fully contained at 5 p.m.

    Now how the heck did this one start? Do we have an arson working along that stretch of I-5? Seems like it. That’s the fourth fire in the last year (starting with last year’s June Calgrove fire which was very bad.
